RFP+ Group - Mission

The mission of the RFP+ Group is to provide input to the Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production when that Group, and/or its special project teams, is working on an issue involving the use of technology/services provided by electronic discovery/electronic information management vendors, and to help create tools and solutions that will benefit the entire marketplace. The Group developed a guide to the user of ediscovery and einformation management vendors (See Navigating the Vendor Proposal Process under WG1 publications) and an accompanying Glossary for ediscovery and the management of electronic information (See The Sedona Conference Glossary under WG1 publications), and members of the RFP+ Vendor Panel agree to work with users who utilize these documents and their approach.

The RFP+ Vendor Panel was formed in the belief that a well-informed marketplace, speaking in the same language, will ultimately lead to reduced transaction costs for all parties, higher quality, and greater predictability.

The RFP+ Group consists of a "User Group" that drafts the various documents, and a Vendor Panel, that has agreed to work with the User Group's output, and who provide input along the way. The Vendor Panel is open to any interested entity that provides products and/or services in this area. (See Invitation). This year's annual meeting of the RFP" Vendor Panel will be in April in Sedona, to provide input to the efforts of the special project teams working on email management and archiving, search and retrieval sciences, legal holds and legacy data.
